How MathsDaily works
MathsDaily builds a new set of twenty questions for the learner’s selected level, calculates each answer from the same mathematical values, checks recent history for repeats and saves progress only in that browser.
1. Curriculum-matched question templates
Each level has a controlled bank of skills and question structures. Primary levels use age-appropriate number ranges and language. Key Stage 3 develops fluency across number, algebra, geometry, statistics and ratio. GCSE separates Foundation and Higher content. A-level divides practice across Pure Mathematics, Mechanics and Statistics.
2. Questions and answers are produced together
A template first selects valid numerical values, then uses those values to create the question, accepted answer and explanation. This reduces transcription errors because the answer is not copied from a separate list. Inputs are normalised so equivalent supported forms, such as common mathematical symbols and permitted units, can be recognised.
3. Repeat protection
MathsDaily creates a fingerprint for each generated question and another for the complete set. Before saving a new set, it compares these fingerprints with recent question and set history on that device. If a collision is found, it tries new values. This greatly expands the useful variation available from every topic template.
4. Personalised weak-topic practice
Correct and incorrect attempts are counted by topic. Once a topic has enough answers to form a useful signal, the next set keeps broad curriculum coverage and adds five extra variations from the weakest topic. Personalisation therefore supports revision without turning the whole session into one repetitive exercise.
5. Worked solutions and retries
An incorrect response stays available for another attempt. The learner sees a method choice, the calculation applied to that question and the final answer. At the end, all twenty solutions can be opened individually for review. Completing the day requires every question to be answered correctly, including retries.
6. Privacy and reminders
Progress, completed days, topic history and optional reminder settings are stored locally on the device. MathsDaily does not require an account. The optional PWA reminder asks for notification permission only when the user turns it on.
Quality feedback matters: mathematical or accessibility issues can be reported through the contact page. A clear question number, level and date helps identify the generated version.
